Welcome!

A very warm welcome to the website of the Erewash Canal Preservation and Development Association.

The Erewash Canal Preservation and Development Association was formed in the 1960s by a group of enthusiasts. We have undertaken many projects both on our Visit the Forumhome Erewash Canal and further afield.

The Erewash Canal runs 11.75 miles through the Erewash Valley from the River Trent at Trent Lock to Langley Mill Basin. Passing through 15 locks rising around 110 foot. It passes through or nearby the towns of Long Eaton, Sandiacre, by Toton railway sidings, Sandiacre, Stapleford, under the M1 motorway, past Trowell, Ilkeston, Cossall, Awsworth, Eastwood and finally to Langley Mill and the Great Northern Basin.
